With water all around us in Central Florida, it is imperative that all kids learn to be safe in and around water. That’s why the Y has developed a full array of water safety classes and swim lessons for kids of all ages and abilities, beginning with infants. These swim programs save lives and allow kids to build confidence in the water that lasts a lifetime as they have fun! Make this summer the summer your child learns to swim at the Y.
Swim Lessons →
Choose from group swim lessons or private lessons with certified instructors from an aquatics program that’s taught kids, teens, adults, and seniors how to swim for generations. We offer safety-enhanced group swim lessons and private swim lessons so you can find a class that best fits your needs.
Safe Start →
Safe Start and Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) are the leading behavioral-based approach to swimming lessons, using techniques that are developmentally appropriate for your child. Nonwalking infants will be taught to roll on to their back to float, rest and breathe while children that are walking will be taught to use a swim-float-swim sequence to reach safety.
Safety Around Water →
In the state of Florida, drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children under age 4. Learning to stay safe around water may begin at the Y, but it doesn’t end there. That’s why every year, during National Drowning Prevention Month, we engage and educate families with unique tips and activities to promote safety around water.
At the Y, our goal is to nurture the full potential of every child, both during the games and beyond. Our Youth Sports provide a healthy way for your child to gain or improve their skills, develop sportsmanship, learn how to positively communicate with their teammates, and see positive role models in action. With a wide variety of sports to choose from and convenient locations across Central Florida, the Y is ready to help your child stay active, grow healthier, and have fun this summer.
Registration for the Youth Sports summer season is now closed.
You and your family can stay active together with group exercise classes! We've reimagined our group exercise classes at our family centers so we can bring you the classic offerings you enjoy such as Zumba and HIIT along with new ones like outdoor yoga and cycling. If you're looking for virtual workouts, we also offer live and on-demand classes through Facebook that are designed to make it easy to enjoy a great workout from home. As always, our group exercise classes are meant for all ages and abilities so you can grow stronger, no matter where you are.
