At the Y, we care just as much about the future of our community’s children as you do. That’s why we work hard to provide our students with the best chance of success. We help to increase student achievement and reduce risk-taking behaviors through academic support, as well as health and social enrichment programming.
Before and After School Program
Our Before and After School program focus aligns the YMCA’s strengths with key educational milestones. Daily activities include homework help, snack time, enrichment, and more.

Our program is spearheaded by experienced and skilled school-based staff. You can trust your child is safe, supported, and taken care of while in the care of our before and after school programs.
Staff Requirements
All staff must undergo background screening and a 4-hour employee orientation before starting. Throughout the year, staff will also complete 40 hours of program training, monthly in-service training, and participate in monthly staff meetings. All staff must also be CPR/First Aid and AED certified.

Elementray School Clubs
Join one of our many after school clubs as your extracurricular activity. The sessions are 8 weeks long and open for ages Kindergarten through 5th depending on the club. You do not have to be enrolled in our after-school program to participate.

We work hard to provide our students the best chance of success. Our Before and After School utilizes intentional programming that includes:
- Math, reading, and art homework support
- At least 30 minutes of literacy activities per day
- Daily fitness and nutrition education
- Character and leadership development skills
- 21st Century Skill Building and service learning

My child was in the program last year, do I need to register again?
Yes, all students—new and recurring—need to register annually.
I don’t see my child’s school listed on the registration page. How can I register for the program?
If your child’s school is not listed as a confirmed site, please contact your school administration directly to secure information related to the services provided.
I’m not planning for my child to attend school until later in the school year, do I need to register now?
There will be an opportunity to register for programming later in the school year. If you chose to register now and your child doesn’t begin the program in the fall, you will be placed on a waiting list for your preferred start date.
I paid the registration fee, what is the next step?
Please check your email for a link to complete the registration forms. The email will come from the PlayerSpace platform. If you don’t receive an email, please check your spam/junk mail and then mark PlayerSpace as a safe sender. All registered families will receive an email indicating when the specific weeks are available for purchase.
My child may not attend every day. Is there a drop-in option?
Sessions are purchased and billed weekly. We don’t have an option for daily rates.
