Make this fall the time your child learns to swim at the Y! With water all around us in Central Florida, it is imperative that all kids learn to be safe in and around water. That’s why the Y has developed a full array of water safety classes and swim lessons for kids of all ages and abilities, beginning with infants. These swim programs save lives and allow kids to build confidence and have fun in the water.

Swim Lessons
Choose from group swim lessons or private lessons with certified instructors from an aquatics program that’s taught kids, teens, adults, and seniors how to swim for generations. We offer safety-enhanced group swim lessons and private swim lessons so you can find a class that best fits your needs.

Safe Start →
Safe Start and Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) are the leading behavioral-based approach to swimming lessons, using techniques that are developmentally appropriate for your child. Nonwalking infants will be taught to roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe while children that are walking will be taught to use a swim-float-swim sequence to reach safety.

Safety Around Water
In the state of Florida, drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children under age 4. Learning to stay safe around water may begin at the Y, but it doesn’t end there. That’s why every year, during National Drowning Prevention Month, we engage and educate families with unique tips and activities to promote safety around water.

You and your family can stay active together with group exercise classes! We've reimagined our group exercise classes at our family centers so we can bring you the highest-quality offerings such as Les Mills, HIIT, and SilverSneakers®. If you're looking for virtual workouts, YMCA members get exclusive access to YMCA360, a new platform full of live and on-demand fitness classes, youth enrichment activities, sports skills and drills, recipes, and so much more.
