ORLANDO, Fla. – (June 16, 2019) – The YMCA of Central Florida will showcase its newly renovated J. Douglas Williams YMCA Family Center during a ribbon-cutting ceremony and facility tour on June 19 at 11:30 a.m. Wayne M. Densch Charities and the Leonard Williams Sr. Family donated $1 million to make significant improvements to the facility, including critical enhancements to the parking lot, front entrance and pool area, as well as renovations to the group exercise room and gymnasium. A front door canopy will also be completed in the fall.

“We're proud to serve more than 15,000 Lake Mary neighbors through the impactful programs and services offered at our J. Douglas Williams YMCA,” says Dan Wilcox, President and CEO of the YMCA of Central Florida. “Wayne Densch Charities' and the Leonard Williams Sr. Family’s continuous support of the Y has been critical in helping us invest in important improvements to our Family Centers and continue to meet the evolving needs of our community.”

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, the Y relies on the help from community partners to further its cause of strengthening communities. With this latest gift, the Wayne Densch Charities and Leonard Williams Sr. Family has provided more than $3.5 million in funding to the Y during the past three decades.
