Join the YMCA Volleyball Clinics, powered by the organization that invented volleyball!
Youth volleyball clinics at the YMCA of Central Florida are designed to help young athletes build confidence, develop fundamental skills, and get game-ready in a short amount of time. Led by experienced coaches, each clinic combines focused skill training with engaging instruction in a supportive, small-group environment.
Whether your child is new to volleyball or preparing for their next season, our co-ed clinics provide the tools they need to step onto the court with confidence or transition into one of our recreational league or training programs. Players leave feeling prepared, confident, and ready to play.
Focus Areas:
- Serving, passing, setting, hitting, and court movement
- Skill refinement and repetition
- Confidence building in a short timeframe
Volleyball is more than just a game. It helps kids develop coordination, agility, communication, and teamwork while building confidence and resilience. At the Y, we create a positive and supportive environment where every player can grow, regardless of skill level.

What’s the difference between Volleyball Clinics, Leagues, and Skills Academy programs?
Great question! Our volleyball programs are designed to help youth athletes grow at every stage of development, whether they’re just learning the game or preparing for more advanced play.
Clinics → Recreational League → Skills Academy → Competitive Team
- Clinics = Get Ready
Youth Volleyball Clinics are short-term sessions focused on skill development and preseason preparation. They’re a great way to build confidence and improve fundamentals before joining a team or league.
- Leagues = Get in the Game
Our Jr. Valkyries Volleyball League gives players the opportunity to practice, compete in games, and experience teamwork in a fun, structured environment.
- Skills Academy = Get Better
The Volleyball Skills Academy focuses on long-term development through ongoing training that helps athletes improve technique, game awareness, and overall performance.
- Competitive Teams = Compete at the Next Level
Our Spartans Competitive volleyball team is designed for athletes seeking a higher level of competition, commitment, and skill development.
What should my child wear and bring to the YMCA Volleyball Clinic?
Your child should wear comfortable athletic clothing, athletic court shoes, knee pads (recommended), and bring a water bottle.
How do I know if a volleyball clinic is right for my child?
Clinics are a great fit if your child:
- Is new to volleyball and wants to learn the basics
- Needs a confidence boost before joining a league or team
- Wants to improve specific skills such as serving, passing, or hitting
- Prefers a short-term commitment instead of an ongoing program
If your child is looking for consistent, long-term improvement, the Volleyball Skills Academy may be a better fit.
Do volleyball clinics include games?
Clinics focus primarily on skill development through drills, instruction, and skill-building activities. Some sessions may include scrimmages or game-like situations, but the primary goal is to prepare players for real game experiences.
Can my child join a clinic before signing up for a league?
Absolutely. In fact, clinics are one of the best ways to get started. They help players build confidence, learn fundamentals, and feel more prepared before joining a league or team.
Are clinics available at multiple locations?
Yes! Youth Volleyball Clinics are offered at select YMCA Family Centers across Central Florida. Check the “Register for Your Program” section below to find a location near you.
