FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ORLANDO, Fla. (March 10, 2025) — The YMCA of Central Florida is partnering with Dr. B, an online telehealth service, to help make whole-body health more accessible and affordable for its members. Through this partnership, members who have a health insurance plan with a Health Savings Account (HSA) or a Flexible Savings Account (FSA), may be eligible to use their pre-tax dollars to pay for their YMCA membership and personal training fees.
Dr. B is providing YMCA members with an online letter of medical necessity consultation for $15 at any time without an appointment. If approved, members can submit YMCA membership expenses for reimbursement through their HSA or FSA accounts. The letter of medical necessity is valid for 12 months and can be used toward fitness expenses, including YMCA membership, personal training and additional YMCA evidence-based health programs.
“At the Y, we strive to remove all barriers to access the life-changing benefits of our healthy activities and programs,” said Kevin Bolding, president and CEO of the YMCA of Central Florida. “By partnering with Dr. B, we are providing a new way for neighbors in need of our preventative health care services to invest in their well-being.”
Members are not required to use Dr. B for their letter of medical necessity. However, this service offers a convenient alternative to visiting a primary care provider.
