YMCA of Central Florida Debuts Newly-Renovated Family Center in Pine Hills

Community leaders to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Wayne Densch

ORLANDO, Fla. – March 27, 2019 – The YMCA of Central Florida will showcase its newly-renovated Wayne Densch YMCA Family Center during a ribbon-cutting ceremony and facility tour on March 27 at 11:30 a.m.  Wayne M. Densch Charities donated more than $500,000 to make critical improvements to the facility, including major improvements to the parking lot, floor repairs, interior ceiling repairs, landscaping and more. The family center serves as a refuge for children and families living in Pine Hills, enabling them to participate in afterschool activities, youth sports and aquatics at little to no cost.

“We're proud to serve more than 3,500 neighbors here in Pine Hills at our Wayne Densch YMCA,” said Dan Wilcox, President & Chief Executive Officer at the YMCA of Central Florida. “Wayne Densch Charities was a critical partner for us when we opened our doors over 27 years ago. Their long-term partnership and ongoing support have been critical in helping the Y improve lives in this neighborhood, and their most recent donation will allow us to continue to serve this community.”

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, The YMCA of Central Florida relies on the help from community partners to further its cause of strengthening communities and making sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

With this latest gift, the Wayne Densch Charities has provided more than $2.3 million in funding to the YMCA of Central Florida over the past three decades.
