YMCA of Central Florida Announces Kevin Bolding as New President & CEO

ORLANDO, Fla. – (June 22, 2021)

After an extensive nationwide search, the YMCA of Central Florida’s Metro Board of Directors selected President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh Kevin Bolding to succeed Dan Wilcox, who announced earlier this year his upcoming retirement after nearly 40 years leading the nonprofit’s service to the Central Florida community.

“Our board of directors' selection committee had a great responsibility to carefully and thoughtfully choose a new CEO from among incredibly impressive candidates,” says Pete Krzyzak, chair, YMCA of Central Florida Metro Board of Directors. “In Kevin, we found a proven, passionate, and innovative leader to chart the course for how the Y will continue to serve our fast-growing community.”

“It has been a blessing to be part of the life-changing mission work of the YMCA throughout my career,” says Dan Wilcox. “As I pass the baton to Kevin, I am confident our association will remain in good hands as he, our dedicated board and incredible staff steward the Y into the future.”

Bolding has been recognized as an Outstanding CEO by Pittsburgh Business Times and as a Smart 50 honoree by Smart Business Magazine. Recruited to Pittsburgh in 2009 as the executive director of the Downtown YMCA, he was promoted to district vice president, chief operating officer and named president and CEO in 2016. Prior to joining the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh, Bolding worked at the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit from 1996-2006 and the YMCA of Greater Miami from 2006-2009. His career with the YMCA began in 1994 in his hometown of Lynchburg, Va., where he served as executive director.

“It’s a true honor to join in service alongside such a talented team at the YMCA of Central Florida,” says Bolding. “I am both humbled and energized by this exciting opportunity to advance the Y’s impact in such a thriving, dynamic and diverse community. My family and I are looking forward to making Central Florida our home.”

A dedicated team of board members and staff will work closely with Bolding over the summer to ensure a seamless transition as he relocates from Pittsburgh with his family.
