Severe Weather Prep

We’re Here to Help You Weather Any Storm

At the Y, the safety of all in our care is of the utmost importance. As hurricane season is now underway, we’ll be taking the necessary precautions to ensure our members and program participants, Y team, and facilities are prepared for a severe weather event.

In the case a storm occurs, we expect conditions may vary from location to location and potential power outages may impede our ability to stay in touch. If our operations are modified, please visit our association's Facebook and Instagram accounts, your local YMCA's social media account(s), our Weather Alerts webpage for the most up-to-date information. Families and individuals involved in programming like Youth Sports and swim lessons will also receive communications from PlayerSpace.

Take this time to educate everyone in your household about staying safe during severe weather with hurricane preparedness tips from Ready.gov. We also encourage you to review the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Emergency Preparedness Checklist and download the FEMA Mobile app for real-time alerts. For more national aid organizations to get familiar with as well as additional resources specific to your county, please visit our Weather Alerts webpage.

Please know that every action we take is for the safety and well-being of everyone. The Y will be here to support you, your loved ones, and the community in whatever way we can in alignment with our core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith. As beacons of safety and connection, our YMCA family centers will be here to continue serving you before and after the storm.
