Titusville YMCA Receives $10,000 Grant from Jess Parrish Medical Foundation to Assist Brevard County Residents in Need

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – The Titusville YMCA Family Center has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Jess Parrish Medical Foundation (JPMF) to support the YMCA’s Annual Scholarship Campaign.

“With support from community partners like JPMF, the Y can help youth reach their full potential, keep families engaged in positive programs and provide North Brevard residents with a safe place to stay active and connected with neighbors,” explained Titusville YMCA Executive Director, Billy Specht.

The grant will help provide financial assistance to individuals, children, seniors and families seeking YMCA membership and for those who would like to participate in YMCA programs, which include: youth sports, swim lessons, aquatics programs, before and after school care, day camps and summer camp.

“At the YMCA, our goal is to never turn anyone away due to their inability, and the grant from Jess Parrish Medical Foundation will help us meet our goal,” said Specht.

In 2013, the Titusville YMCA was able to provide financial assistance to 1,136 children, seniors and families in Brevard County. In total, the Y distributed approximately $188,000. These funds, raised through the YMCA Annual Support Campaign, helped individuals from all walks of life to be healthier and more confident, connected and secure.
