The YMCA of Central Florida Welcomes Pedro Nieves to Metro Board

The YMCA of Central Florida announced today that Pedro Nieves, the Quality Director, Missiles & Fire Control at Lockheed Martin Corporation, has joined our Metropolitan Board of Directors. 

Mr. Nieves is an accomplished quality executive with 20+ years of experience in the business industry. Originally from Puerto Rico, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez. After moving to Florida, he went on to obtain a Master's degree in Business Administration and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida. He started at Lockheed Martin in 1998 as a Systems Engineer, and moved up the ranks holding positions like Quality Engineer Sr., Deputy Program Quality Manager, and since 2018 has been the Quality and Mission Success Director for the Air Dominance Weapons Systems (ADWS) and Tactical Strike Missiles (TSM) Lines of Business.

Through cultural transformations, he has a track record of taking underperforming programs, centers, and teams and turning them into high-functioning entities. Pedro also helps support communities and organizations through mentoring and coaching. His involvement with the Y began back in his hometown where Pedro played basketball at a local YMCA. Nowadays, our association is looking forward to the impact he'll help us make in Central Florida!
