The YMCA of Central Florida announced today that Michael Mueller, CFO of Dr. P. Phillips Hospital Orlando Health, has joined our Metropolitan Board of Directors.
Michael graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1995 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and again in 1996 with a Master’s degree in Taxation. He is a Certified Public Accountant and previously was a Certified Financial Planner. Mr. Mueller started his career with Arthur Andersen, LLP before moving to a boutique accounting firm that focused primarily on healthcare. Since then, he's served in executive healthcare finance roles with a variety of for-profit, academic, nonprofit, and government healthcare systems.
Prior to his current position, Michael was the Chief Financial Officer of Orlando Health - Health Central Hospital on the west side of Orlando, where he was awarded “CFO of the Year” by the Orlando Business Journal. During his tenure, Michael oversaw more than $450 million in construction/capital investment including the development of the Horizon West Hospital. Nowadays, Mr. Mueller operates as the Chief Financial Officer of Dr. P. Philips Hospital, overseeing finances at St. Cloud Hospital, which combined have more than $500 million in annual revenue.
Amongst his many volunteer activities, he is the Treasurer of the Heart of Florida United Way, serves on the finance committees of the YMCA of Central Florida and St. James Cathedral, he's Secretary of the West Orange Health Alliance, and is a former president of the Kappa Delta Rho Foundation and the Dana-Thomas House Foundation. Michael has also spent several years helping coach girls softball. He currently resides in Orlando with his wife, Renee, and their two daughters.
