SPLASH WEEK | 20 Locations – One Goal: To Save Lives

Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in Florida for children ages 1–14, making water safety education essential for families across Central Florida.

At the Y, we believe learning to swim is a life‑saving skill and a lesson that lasts a lifetime. In Florida, where water is part of everyday life, everyone needs the knowledge and confidence to stay safe in and around water. For more than 100 years, we have empowered youth with essential water safety skills through engaging, high‑quality swim instruction—always prioritizing safety while ensuring learning is fun.

SPLASH WEEK is a FREE, 5‑day swim program taking place April 20 – April 24 for youth ages 4–12. Each day, participants enjoy expert swim instruction, character development activities, and critical water safety education designed to build confidence and competence in the water.

Instructors from our YMCA of Central Florida Swim Academy create a supportive, encouraging environment where children develop basic stroke skills, learn safe behaviors around water, and build a lifelong love of swimming. Personal safety lessons also help children and parents understand water awareness, respect aquatic environments, and strengthen overall safety knowledge.

This program is open to the public and will be offered at 20 locations across Central Florida, making it easy for families to access high‑quality, no‑cost swim instruction and water safety education.
