I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Julie Kleffel, Immediate Past Board Chair of the YMCA of Central Florida, senior executive at Seacoast Bank, and a passionate advocate for strengthening communities through leadership.

In this episode, Julie shares how her journey with the Y began at the committee level and grew into a leadership role that has allowed her to witness firsthand the impact of our mission. From helping children learn to swim and stay safe, to supporting families, seniors, and individuals seeking connection and belonging, Julie reflects on how service has deepened her perspective as both a leader and a member of our community.

Julie also shares why board and volunteer service can be transformational for the individuals who choose to step forward and lead. Her message is simple: if you’ve ever wondered how you can make a difference, start by asking how you can help.
