YMCA of Central Florida to kick off summer with its annual Healthy Kids Day event

ORLANDO, Fla. (April 26, 2025) — YMCA of Central Florida is hosting its annual Healthy Kids Day event on Saturday, April 26 at its 14 family center locations. The national community-wide event will kick off the summer by bringing kids and their families together to promote healthy habits and lifestyles. Attendees will enjoy a day of family-friendly fun with games, youth sports, exercise demos, aquatics activities, arts and crafts, educational sessions and more.

“Healthy Kids Day is a celebration of ways to stay active and safe this summer,” said Kevin Bolding, president and CEO of the YMCA of Central Florida. “Here at the Y, we believe that kids who are happy, engaged and active pave the way for a stronger, healthier community.”

This year’s event will not only emphasize the importance of physical health and wellness but also highlighted the significance of community literacy through a partnership with New Worlds Reading Initiatives. Attendees will receive free lunch and have the pleasure of listening to a special guest reader, sparking excitement and interest in books and reading among children. As part of this initiative, children will be provided with a free book, ensuring that the joy of reading extends beyond the event itself.
