To unlock the full potential impact of the Y for good across our community, we must elevate and strengthen our philanthropic focus and community partnerships. To help accomplish this aim, I have created a new senior-level role called Chief Mission & Brand Advancement Officer (CMBAO) that will be responsible for leading the association’s efforts to:
- Strengthen the philanthropic culture
- Engage underserved communities
- Develop partnerships, volunteers, and advocates
- Amplify the Y’s story of impact
Today, I am pleased to announce that Daniel Saginario has been promoted from Vice President of Brand & Cause Advocacy into this new role and will join CFO Colleen Manahan, COO Jody Alexander, and me as the executive leadership team. In addition to continuing to lead the Brand & Cause, Christian Initiatives, and Healthy Eating teams, Daniel will also now lead the development of the association’s Philanthropy, Advocacy, and Community Outreach teams.
As this new department takes shape under Daniel’s leadership, natural synergies will emerge that I have seen elsewhere across the Y movement when storytelling, mission work, and philanthropy join together in partnership with our staff, volunteer leadership, and community partners.
Daniel brings nearly 30 years of professional leadership experience in marketing & communications, brand management, special events, and strategic partnerships from Darden, Universal, and HSN before joining the Y five years ago. Under Daniel’s leadership at the Y, we modernized and amplified our marketing, content, and communication efforts to reach and engage our fast-growing community. Daniel grew up as a Y kid playing soccer at the Downtown Y and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from UCF and his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Florida. He and his wife have four children and live on a small farm in Oviedo along with their two golden retrievers and herd of mini cows.
