On Thursday, April 18, the YMCA of Central Florida will host its Celebration of Prayer Breakfast from 7:15-8:30 AM at the First Baptist Church of Orlando.
For 25 years, this annual community tradition has brought together people of all ages, faiths and backgrounds to unite in prayer. Celebration of Prayer supports the Y’s mission to improve the lives of all in Central Florida by connecting individuals, families and communities with opportunities based on Christian values that strengthen Spirit, Mind and Body.
Attended each year by more than 1,000 residents and community leaders in Central Florida, Celebration of Prayer is the largest event of its kind held locally during Holy Week. This annual prayer breakfast honors the Y’s commitment to Social Responsibility and supports the Christian traditions that make us strong.
This year’s keynote speaker is David Uth, senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Orlando. David grew up as the son of a pastor in Arkansas and was ordained at the age of 19, when he pastored his first church. Before coming to First Baptist Church or Orlando, David pastored churches in Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas. Along with serving the churches and communities where he pastored, he has also been honored to serve as the President of the Florida Baptist Convention and Chairman of the International Mission Board of Trustees.
We look forward to hearing from Pastor Uth and joining together once again on April 18 for an uplifting morning of prayer and community. Thank you to our valued partners, whose support keeps this important annual community tradition alive!
