Belonging Begins with Us Welcoming Week September 9–19
We know communities are stronger and more cohesive when people from all backgrounds have the opportunity to get to know one another and work side by side to advance the common good. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Welcoming Week was created by Welcoming America and is a national celebration that brings together newcomer immigrants and U.S.-born residents at community-based events to promote cross-cultural understanding and raise awareness of the benefits of welcoming everyone!
Resources for New Community Members
The RISE Employment & Training Program is a City of Orlando initiative hosted in partnership with CareerSource Central Florida to ensure Orlando’s residents impacted by COVID-19 have equitable access to opportunities for assessment, education, training, coaching and support services to measurably increase their employability.
The Florida Immigrant Coalition (FLIC) is a statewide coalition of more than 65 member organizations and over 100 allies, founded in 1998 and formally incorporated in 2004. We are led by our membership, including grassroots and community organizations, farmworkers, youth, advocates, lawyers, union members, and more.
Orlando Center for Justice, Inc. (OCJ)’s mission is to bridge the access to justice gap in Central Florida by using technology, education and innovative programs to reach a wide range of underserved communities.
