Recognizing Veteran’s Day

Our following message comes from the YMCA of Central Florida Chaplain Archie Adams. In the realm of Central Florida, Chaplain Adams stands as a beacon of both spiritual guidance and a heartfelt acknowledgment of the sacrifices made by our veterans. Join him as he delves into the profound insights and meaningful reflections that Chaplain Adams imparts on this Veterans Day, offering a perspective that transcends the ordinary and resonates deeply with the essence of gratitude and remembrance.

It’s Veterans Day, a day of parades and speeches, a day where we take time to not only recognize but also celebrate all who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Today is the day when we as a nation show our appreciation and gratitude to veterans for their dedicated service to this country.

So today, we are especially grateful for our military, those who have served in the past, and those who bravely fight today and we must also give tribute to the families who support them. And of course, to those who courageously gave their lives for this country, we here at the YMCA of Central Florida, want to thank you for your service, for your sacrifice and for your dedication.

We know that “Freedom Isn’t Free” and that there is a great debt of gratitude that we owe you.

"How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes!" - Maya Angelou, writer and civil rights activist

“Veterans know better than anyone else the price of freedom, for they’ve suffered the scars of war. We can offer them no better tribute than to protect what they have won for us.” - President  Ronald Reagan, 1983

It's Veterans Day, whether individually or collectively there are many ways to honor our veterans, such as donating to a trusted veteran’s organization, volunteering at a local VA Hospital, or writing thank-you notes to people who have served.

So once again from the YMCA of Central Florida, we want you to know that we are grateful for our veterans who have dedicated their lives to protecting our country.

Happy Veterans Day
