According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, responsible for one in four deaths each year. Raising awareness and promoting prevention are critical to improving heart health in our community.
In recognition of American Heart Month, and to address the widespread impact of heart disease, we have partnered with Orlando Health’s Heart Institute to host a Healthy Eating and Heart Health Seminar on Saturday, February 21, at the Downtown YMCA.
From asparagus to sweet potatoes, every bite of heart‑healthy food provides essential nutrients that can help reduce the risk of heart disease. Guests are invited to sample delicious heart‑healthy treats while participating in an engaging and informative panel discussion focused on why heart health matters and how nutrition plays a key role in prevention.
