Gilbert Garcia Joins YMCA of Central Florida as Executive Director at the Osceola County YMCA Family Center
ORLANDO, FL – (June 30, 2015) – The YMCA of Central Florida today announced the appointment of Gilbert Garcia as Executive Director at Osceola County YMCA Family Center in Kissimmee, FL.
In this role, Garcia will lead the operations, community development and financial development initiatives at the Osceola Y.
“Gilbert Garcia has directed successful outcomes with proven YMCA leadership experience,” said Jake Steger, District Vice President, YMCA of Central Florida. “His passion to expand the Y mission and cause throughout Osceola County is going to be contagious.”
Garcia has worked within the YMCA movement in multiple capacities for the past 14 years. Garcia comes to YMCA of Central Florida from the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids in Michigan, where he held the role Senior Membership Director at the David D. Hunting YMCA. The David D. Hunting YMCA is a 160,000 square foot facility; serving 17,000 members. Under Garcia’s leadership the Y experienced significant improvements with membership growth, member retention, and the overall SEER customer satisfaction scores.
Garcia earned a Business Administration degree from Davenport University. Gilbert, his wife, and their 6 year old daughter, Aubrey, are all very excited about this new opportunity in Central Florida.
