Did you know  volleyball was invented at the YMCA?

Volleyball has been part of the YMCA story since the very beginning. The sport was invented in 1895 by YMCA physical education director William G. Morgan as a new way to keep people active, challenged, and connected.

Today, that tradition continues at the YMCA of Central Florida. Our youth volleyball programs give kids and teens opportunities to learn the game, build confidence, develop their skills, and compete at the level that’s right for them.

Recreational Volleyball League

The YMCA’s Jr. Valkyries Volleyball League, is partnership with the Orlando Valkyries, is a fun, team-focused program where young athletes can learn the fundamentals of the game while building confidence and friendships. Players develop skills like serving, passing, setting, and hitting while learning teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship in a positive, supportive environment.
