Tools You'll Need

  • Measuring spoons
  • Small bowl
  • Chef’s knife
  • Cutting board
  • Baking Sheets

Ingredients

  • 3 apples*
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of chili powder (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven

    Preheat oven to 225°.

  2. Mix seasoning

In a small bowl stir together sugar, cinnamon, and chili powder. Set aside.

  3. Line baking sheet.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and set aside.

  4. Begin slicing

Using a sharp knife, cut the top and bottom off of the apples. Slice a small part off the side of the apple so it will sit flat and not roll around on your cutting board.

  5. Slice apple chips

Place the apple flat on your cutting board and slice the apple into ⅛ inch-thick rounds. Repeat with the remaining 2 apples.

  6. Place chips on baking sheet

Arrange apples in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

  7. Season and bake

Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar blend over apple slices and bake at 225° for 1 hour and 45 minutes, or until edges begin to curl and the chips are golden and crisp.

  8. Allow chips to cool

Slide parchment paper with apple chips onto cooling racks and cool completely for about 20 minutes. The chips will crisp more as they cool.
