At the YMCA, we believe that water safety starts with awareness—and that every parent and caregiver can be a hero when it comes to preventing drowning.
This past weekend our Y joined arms with YMCAs across the country to host Healthy Kids Day. This is an annual celebration of community and a mobilization of what we can collectively do to improve the health, wellness, and educational supports of our children.
At the YMCA of Central Florida, we’re committed to more than just physical fitness—we’re here to help individuals grow stronger in spirit, mind and body. As a nonprofit rooted in Christian values, our mission is to support and uplift every member of our community by providing meaningful connections and opportunities for personal growth. The story below is a beautiful reflection of that mission in action.
As a personal trainer who has worked with clients of all abilities, I’ve come to understand that gratitude for our bodies—regardless of their shape, size or function—is not just a nice idea; it’s essential for our physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
