Build Individual Skills in a Team Environment

Whether your child is looking to brush up on their skills or is trying a sport for the first time, our Dr. P. Phillips YMCA Youth Sports Academy is a great way to stay active and have fun!

Academies are a group training program designed to offer kids and teens the opportunity to improve their personal performance on the court or field. Sessions are run with an emphasis on building character and teaching sportsmanship, learning the fundamentals of the game through fun activities, and improving technical skills with drills. While structured league gameplay won’t be followed (as it is with our traditional Youth Sports program), gameplay opportunities will still take place during scrimmages or tournament-style games. 

All academies are led by certified Y team members. Academies take place on a monthly recurring basis, and are different than our seasonal Youth Sports program. Review the current session dates, and fill out our form below to start the registration process for academies.
