A Before & After School Experience for Howard Middle School Students
Located just steps away from Howard Middle School, our Downtown Orlando YMCA program offers students a safe, welcoming space to start and end their school day. Guided by Y counselors, students are walked to and from school and the Y each day. From creative projects to fitness activities and social time with friends, this program is all about connection, confidence, and fun in a supportive environment built just for middle schoolers.

Registration opens:July 1, 2025
Monthly fees:
- $25 – Before school care only
- $25 – After school care only
- $50 – Both before and after school care

What’s New This Year
We’ve added a second teen room teacher, allowing us to expand our club offerings and keep the teen center open while activities are happening in other areas.
Activities & Clubs
Teens can participate in a variety of clubs and sports, including:
- Monday: FreeTutoring with Orange County Family Service (teens must sign up)
- Tuesday: Teen Leaders’ Club $50 yearly fee
- Wednesday & Friday: Esports League $40/$80
- Thursday: Creative Art Club $50 yearly fee
- Basketball, Volleyball, and Swim Teams (Developmental Team & USA Swim Team)
Daily Schedule
- 7:30 AM – Drop-off begins
- 8:45 AM – Walk to Howard Middle School
- 4:00–4:15 PM – Pick-up at Howard Track (3:00 PM on early release days)
- 4:15–4:30 PM – Walk to YMCA & Check-in
- 4:30–5:00 PM – Quiet Time / Snack / Homework
- 5:00–6:00 PM – Teen Center Activities (games, art, wellness, racquetball, etc.)
- 6:00–7:00 PM – Club Time (See above)
After 6:00 PM, teens may use the café, workout area, or court space (if available).
Additional Info
- Teens must complete a wellness tour before using the wellness floor.
- If your teen has a YMCA membership card, please have them bring it to speed up check-in.
