30th Annual Arthur “Pappy” Kennedy Prayer Event
January 18, 2021 – January 22, 2021 EST
This year, the Arthur “Pappy” Kennedy Prayer Breakfast is going virtual!
Hosted by the YMCA of Central Florida, the Southwest Orlando Jaycees, and the City of Orlando’s Martin Luther King Commission, the annual Arthur “Pappy” Kennedy Prayer Event commemorates the legacies of civil rights pioneers Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Arthur “Pappy” Kennedy, Orlando’s first African American City Council Member. Held each year on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, this event brings together more than 1,000 civic leaders, pastors, and Central Florida neighbors in the shared commitment to strengthen our community and improve lives.
For the safety of our neighbors, we’ll be hosting the 2021 Prayer Event virtually with a pre-recorded video that you can watch on-demand starting January 18. Our keynote speaker is Pastor Collin Outerbridge from Nona Church, and we’ll also feature messages from community leaders including Arthur Kennedy family members, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings, and more.
