Quick Tips to Land The Job
Dress in professional attire! Although it’s not required, we encourage you to dress appropriately for the industry you’re interested in. For some, this means business formal, and for others, it can be business casual.
Suggestions for Boys
Wear a polo, dress shirt, or sweater. Dress pants should be black, navy, or khaki. Ties are a great touch, but not mandatory.
Suggestions for Girls
Choose a neutral button-down top or blouse to go with black, navy, or khaki slacks. If you choose a skirt or dress, make sure it doesn’t rise above your knees. For accessories, make sure they’re minimal.
Don’t forget your resume if you have one! It’s recommended to bring at least three copies. If you don’t have one, that’s okay, too. Many employers will have sign-in sheets or applications to fill out on-site.
Be confident in your presentation. Smile, give a firm handshake, and have a great time. You’ve got this!

Things to Keep in Mind
The job fair will be held at the South Orlando YMCA. While it goes from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, you don’t have to stay the entire time. Parents won’t be allowed to visit employers, however, there will be a parent waiting area inside.
Getting to the Job Fair
There will be free, open parking! In the event the lot is full, volunteers will direct you to additional parking at the Oak Ridge High School next door to the YMCA. Friends and family are also encouraged to carpool. If you need to take public transportation, we recommend taking a Lynx bus to the Y.
