For Ages 6 months – 3 Years

Looking for a fun and engaging way to introduce your little one to the water? YMCA of Central Florida’s Swim Starters Program is designed for infants and toddlers to explore the water safely while building confidence in and around the water.

In this parent-child program, caregivers join their children in the pool to:

  • Discover key water safety tips, drowning prevention practices (i.e. ask permission before entering the water), and proper adult supervision.
  • Encourage water comfort through play-based activities.
  • Learn essential skills like floating, breath control, and basic safety techniques.

This two-stage program grows with your child:

  1. Stage A: Focuses on water exploration and enjoyment.
  1. Stage B: Develops swim readiness skills through guided practice with parents.
