For school-age kids, we offer progressive swimming lessons that build on water safety skills developed at each stage, fostering confidence and ensuring safety. With safety as the foundation, children develop essential water skills before advancing to swim strokes.

Key swimming benchmarks for Swim Basics Stages 1 – 3 include:

  • Swim, Float, Swim – Sequencing a front glide, rolling to a back float, returning to a front glide, and exiting the water.
  • Jump, Push, Turn, Grab – Developing skills to jump into the water, turn around, and safely reach the edge.

Swim Basics Stage 3: Water Stamina

In Stage 3, students build on the fundamentals learned in Swim Basics Stage 2 or their prior knowledge, with a focus on mastering their self-rescue skills, building endurance, and swimming independently.

What Your Child Will Learn in Swim Basics Stage 3:

  • Swim-float-swim independently for 15 yards
  • Breathing techniques to enhance swimming efficiency
  • Treading water for 30 seconds and exiting the pool safely/independently

This stage emphasizes endurance, safety, and the development of foundational skills for lifelong physical activity and well-being.
