Y Your Way Membership Information
Y Your Way is the YMCA of Central Florida’s new monthly membership model. This updated model allows you to customize your YMCA experience in a way that works best for you, your family, your interests and your budget.
The YMCA of Central Florida is a leading nonprofit organization committed to strengthening our community, and we believe that all people should have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential regardless of age, gender, faith, or income. This new membership model makes YMCA programs and services more accessible to people across Central Florida, allowing us to make an even greater impact in the lives of our neighbors.
We simplified our membership options into three tiers: Base, Plus, and Max. You choose which tier you prefer based on the YMCA amenities and programs that are important to you.
The set-up fee is a one-time $35 charge in order to process your membership, no matter how many people are on your account, as long as your membership remains active.
No, your membership isn’t locked into a contract and you may cancel at any time.
Yes! You can pay your total annual membership balance in full and receive a 10% discount.
As a YMCA member, your existing membership type will remain unchanged as long as your account is active and in good standing. Existing membership types will have “Max” access to the Y. (Included amenities and programs as listed here.) Reservations will be required for all group exercise and aqua fitness classes, effective January 2023. If you wish to modify your current membership type (i.e., add or remove a family member from your account), you will have to select a new membership option under our new model.
The new year is always a busy time at the Y. As we roll out our new membership model, the reservation system allows us to track usage and helps us determine the best possible class and program schedules so that we continue to meet the needs of members like you.
Yes. If you have been a member with us prior to January 2023, then a $25 change fee is required to modify your existing membership. To request information regarding modification of your current membership, please complete a membership change inquiry form.
Instead of charging you one more time at your current rate, the change fee allows you to move to the new model by your next billing cycle. You will not have to pay this fee again as long as your membership remains active. Also, you will no longer be required to provide a 30-day membership cancellation notice.
You can visit a YMCA Family Center twice per month and have access to all of the amenities included in the “Base” category. Access is only available to the account holder of the Virtual Membership option.
All members will have access to basketball gyms, racquetball courts, and pickleball courts during “Open” hours. Any members that come to a YMCA scheduled “Pick-Up” time would need to have at least a “Plus” membership.
All third party insurance-paid members (SilverSneakers, Active & Fit, Silver & Fit, Renew Active, and Florida Health Care Plan) can access the “Base” membership tier at no additional cost. These members can upgrade to the “Plus” membership tier for $18 per month, or the “Max” membership tier for $28 per month.
Your current Y membership is offered through an agreement between your insurance provider and the Y. According to the terms of this agreement, your YMCA membership now falls under the “Base” tier.
The Y welcomes all in our community who want to join our family and makes every effort to provide access to those in need of financial assistance thanks to the generous support of our donors.
If your annual household income is below a certain threshold, you may be eligible for a reduced membership rate. In an effort to be the best stewards of the generous donations provided by our community, the Y will request documentation to review and verify financial need. To learn more about financial assistance and the availability of YMCA scholarships, please visit your local family center.
