Healthcare staff will be distributing free Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines from their mobile vaccination clinics in the parking lot at the J. Douglas Williams Y. Please note, the Pfizer vaccine is a double dose*, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are a single dose. This event will be a walk-up only, and no appointments will be made. Pfizer will be administered to individuals 12 and older and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available for individuals 18 and older. Youth between the ages of 12–17 must be accompanied by an adult when receiving the Pfizer vaccine. We encourage the following demographics to get vaccinated:
- Persons determined to be extremely vulnerable by a physician,
- Health care workers with direct patient contact,
- Law enforcement and firefighters,
- Teachers of grades K–12, and
- Residents and staff of long-term care facilities.
*Please note: Individuals who received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on August 3 will also be invited back for their second dose. Individuals who are getting their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on August 24 will need to plan to return to the J. Douglas Williams Y on September 14 (three weeks later) for their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
