Keeping your YMCA Clean, Safe, and Enjoyable

We all play an important role in promoting Healthy Living and preventing the spread of germs.

At the Y, we’re following best practices to help ensure that everyone visiting our family centers experiences a clean, safe environment as part of our Commitment to Health Safety. We pay close attention to local, regional, and national health news so that we can keep you updated on information and advisories from health agencies. We also stay proactively prepared should we need to quickly evolve our preventative measures and existing procedures in accordance with additional updates or recommendations from health agencies.

Staying Safe at
the Y

Our Commitment to Health Safety is a responsibility of not only Y team members, but also involves everyone that visits their family center. Please review the following info to see what we’re doing and how you can help.

What the Y is Doing

We’re following several procedures to help ensure our facilities remain as clean as possible.

Frequent Disinfecting

Equipment, areas, and other surfaces are regularly cleaned and disinfected during operational hours.

After-hours Cleaning Service

Once our YMCA family centers close for the evening, we have a final, thorough sanitation session.

Added Sanitation Stations

More stations for members to clean their hands are placed throughout our family centers for regular use.

Following Local and National Guidance

We’re closely monitoring updates and mandates from local health agencies as well as the CDC.

How You Can Help

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends these actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases.

Stay Home if You’re Symptomatic

Symptoms include: fever of 100.4º+, cough and/or shortness of breath, fatigue, headaches,  loss of taste and/or smell.

Wash Hands

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If you’re unable to use soap and water, use hand sanitizer.

Cover Your Nose and Mouth

Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue then throw the tissue in the trash. If you feel intense symptoms, stay home if possible.

Avoid Direct Contact

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Also, avoid close contact with other people by physical distancing.
